Pay transparency in recruitment from December 2025

How information provided to job applicants has changed.

What has changed

The Labour Code amendment requires an employer to provide a candidate with information on pay or its range and on relevant provisions of a collective agreement or pay rules. It also limits questions about pay history.

From when

The rules took effect on 24 December 2025. They form part of the preparations for implementing pay-transparency rules.

Who is affected

The duties affect employers recruiting staff and job applicants. The precise way information is provided depends on the recruitment stage and the job advertisement.

What to prepare

Review job-advertisement templates, recruitment forms and instructions for interviewers. Before changing a pay policy, distinguish statutory duties from voluntary organisational practices.
